All researchers and staff at HealthPartners (any entity) who have direct involvement in proposing, performing, or reporting research are required to complete training courses. Your ability to work on research projects is contingent upon completing this training requirement. If you have received this training elsewhere, please submit any certificates of completion for our records.
Responsible Conduct in Research Training consists of three parts:
- Responsible Conduct in Research
- Research Privacy and Integrity
- Reporting Unanticipated Problems Training
PART 1 - Responsible Conduct in Research
The University of Miami Online Training
Instructions:
1. Go to the University of Miami website tutorial: www.citiprogram.org and register.
2. Choose:
* Institution: HealthPartners Research Foundation (in 'Other')
* Choose the biomedical course OR the Social/humanistic/behavioral research course
(this will be dependent on the type of research you are doing)
* Full-course (i.e. not the refresher course).
3. Complete the course including the HealthPartners quiz
(you can go in and out of this program to suit your schedule - plan on a minimum of 2 hours and a maximum of 6 hours).
4. IRB office (Kari J. Garman) will receive notification of your completion of training when you are done.
PART 2 - Research Privacy and Integrity
Instructions:
1. Go to http://HealthPartners.skillport.com
2. Log on:
(a) User ID: HP email address (i.e. your name@healthpartners.com)
(b) Password: use the word “password” (without the quotes)
3. Click on 'Catalog' (located at the top-center of the Home Page)
4. Click on 'HealthPartners Courses' and then on 'Research Privacy and Integrity Issues'
5. Click 'Play This Course'
6. The course should take 15-30 minutes to complete.
7. E-mail a copy of your Skillport completion report to Kari.J.Garman@HealthPartners.com
PART 3 - Reporting Unanticipated Problems
Instructions:
1. Go to http://HealthPartners.skillport.com
2. Log on:
(a) User ID: HP email address (i.e. your name@healthpartners.com)
(b) Password: use the word “password” (without the quotes)
3. Click on 'Catalog' (located at the top-center of the Home Page)
4. Click on 'HealthPartners Courses' and then on 'Institution Review Board (IRB) Unanticipated Problem Reporting'
5. Click 'Play This Course'
6. The course should take about 30 minutes to complete. A passing score of 75 or greater is required for passing.
1 CME credit is earned upon completion; the program will link you to your certificate.
7. E-mail a copy of your Skillport completion report to Kari.J.Garman@HealthPartners.com
Note: If you do not have a HealthPartners e-mail address you will have to call the help desk (952-967-6600)
and tell them you are an external person needing access to Skillport. They will help you with logging on.
